Hello and welcome to the home of the National Metal Detecting League "NMDL"!

This site is directly involved with the sport of Metal Detecting! Sport and not Hobby? Yup. This site is set up for those of us who want to take the next step in recreational metal detecting to a competitive sport. We hold a series of hunts that help us determine the detectorist who are the quickest and most accurate. We do this in an atmosphere of good conduct and sportmenship.

We also provide a multi-day hunt every year normally in the month of October. It is called the CASH BASH. Just click on the above tab to get more information about this event.

The NMDL is also happy to have the Guinness book of world records sponsor our competition for the worlds fastest metal detectorist.

The 2008 Guinness World Records honors a Metal Detectorist under the section for fastest human acheivements **On page 83 of the 2008 edition of the Guinness World Records Book** The title of the worlds fastest metal detectorist goes to Sergei Teplyakov of the US Mr. Teplyakov acheived the National Metal Detecting Leagues (NMDL) score of 11. He found 20 pre buried tokens within a 30 minute time limit during "Jeremiah Burr`s - Cash Bash 2002! The NMDL holds the event annually but Sergei still holds the record for 20 tokens in 2002.
